Our Board Members

 

James Wilcox is a Managing Director in the Investment Management Division of First Republic. Mr. Wilcox is a member of the First Republic Asset Allocation Committee and the First Republic Altair Investment Committee.

Prior to joining First Republic, Mr. Wilcox worked for 18 years at Goldman Sachs and was a Vice President in the Investment Management Division. Mr. Wilcox focuses on wealth management for families and foundations. He began his career as Press Secretary to U.S. House Ways and Means Committee Chairman Bill Archer of Texas.

Mr. Wilcox currently serves as Chair of the Los Angeles Advisory Board for the Posse Foundation and on the Posse Foundation National Board. In addition to this, Mr. Wilcox serves as a volunteer firefighter for the Jackson Hole Fire & EMS/ Teton County, Wyoming.

Andy has been a trial lawyer for over 41 years and now primarily arbitrates contract, construction, and commercial disputes for the American Arbitration Association in Wyoming and surrounding states. Throughout his career, he has litigated a wide variety of land use, environmental, commercial and real estate disputes in Washington, Wyoming, Oregon, Idaho, Alaska, California, Montana and North Dakota before federal, state and Tribal courts and federal and state administrative agencies. His clients have included corporations large and small, national banks, Native American Tribes, entertainers, citizens groups, nonprofit organizations, and individuals. Andy currently serves on the Teton County Historic Preservation Board, as a member of the Advisory Board for the Teton Raptor Center and as a member of the Northern Rockies Regional Council of the National Parks Conservation Association.

Andy Salter, Vice Chair

Mark is an active member of the community since moving to Jackson in 2017. In addition to his service as a director and treasurer of the Coombs Foundation, he serves on the board of directors for the Teton Science School. Prior to moving to Jackson Mark lived in San Diego, California and was President of Sempra Energy, a San Diego based Fortune 200 firm. He retired in 2017.

Before moving to Jackson Mark was active in the San Diego community as well. Serving as the Chairman of the Board of the business school at San Diego State University and a member of the Board of Trustees of Rady Children’s Hospital of San Diego. Mark has also served as an independent director for two public NYSE companies.

Mark and his wife Teri have two grown children and two grandchildren. Their son Danny and his wife Shannon and their two children live in Los Angeles California and their daughter Taylor and her husband Jeremy live in Bozeman Montana. Mark is an avid skier and flyfisher among other outdoor activities.

Mark Snell, Treasurer

Nancy Gardiner has been coming to Jackson for over 20 years each winter to ski. She is originally from Montreal, Canada and raised her family of 4 children in Larchmont, New York. In 2020 she made Jackson her primary home and fell in love with summers in Jackson. In New York, she served on several not for profit boards including one that provides need-based college scholarships to local high school students as well as the First Generation Fund of Mamaroneck which raises funds to send first generation students to college. In Jackson, Nancy has volunteered at the Teton Literacy Center and delivers meals to seniors through the Senior Center. She loves skiing, biking and hiking in the beautiful Tetons.

Nancy Gardiner, Secretary

Randy is a managing partner of LWJ & Co., a private partnership focused on investing in early stage companies with high growth potential.

After graduating from Brown University, Randy worked at Bankers Trust Company. He then earned his MBA at Harvard and worked in finance for over 20 years, including as a senior executive at Salomon Brothers, Salomon Smith Barney, and Citigroup. Randy’s primary responsibilities included oversight of fixed income trading, sales, syndication and capital markets activities for the high yield, high grade, loans and emerging markets businesses.

Randy was raised in Asia. His family began visiting Jackson in the late ‘60s while on home leave, staying at the White Grass Ranch. Randy and his wife Debbie enjoy many of the great outdoor activities that Jackson is known for – hiking, cycling, skiing, and fishing.

Randy Barker

Kathleen is a Human Resources executive, most recently leading the people and talent functions for a subsidiary of Cigna. Prior to her twelve-year healthcare career, she was a partner in the consulting firm of Hewitt (Aon Hewitt), leading her function within the southeast region of the United States.

Kathleen received her Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) degree at Loyola University of Chicago. She has held the following professional designations: Certified Society for Human Resource Management Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP); Certified Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR), by the HR Certification Institute; ATD and MMS coaching certificates, is a member of the International Coaching Federation (ICF) and recently became certified in Mental Health First Aid USA through the National Council for Community Behavioral Healthcare. Kathleen is an outdoor enthusiast and excited to support the mission of Coombs Outdoors.

Kathleen Brown

Theresa Brunker is an English language instructor at Central Wyoming College, and is committed to closing the educational and opportunity gaps in our community through meaningful cross-cultural relationships both in and out of the classroom. Theresa has an MA in Teaching English as a Second Language (ESL) and a BA in English/French. Native to Minnesota, she grew up adventuring in the Boundary Waters where outdoor experiences helped shape her character, build perseverance and helped her discover her inner strength. She and her husband have three young-adult children who have been hiking, biking and skiing in the Tetons since 2005. Theresa is passionate about the transformative power of communing with our natural environment and wants to ensure that these experiences are accessible to all.

Theresa Brunker

Frank is retired from a banking career; currently he invests in real estate oriented private equity deals and sits on the advisory board of Piedmont Properties Group, San Francisco and the Yellowstone Region PCA.   He began his banking career at Bankers Trust Company in New York in the 1980’s and ultimately worked in Tokyo with Deutsche Bank as Head of Asia Pacific Real Estate,  where he built a regional business with offices in six countries.  He holds a B.S. in finance, a Juris Doctor and a Masters in real estate.  He has been skiing in Jackson Hole since the 1980's and chose to retire there enjoying the Teton mountain lifestyle.

Frank Forelle

 

“Shared experiences in outdoor settings has guided me in friendship and life.” Maggie credits a family friend as rescuing her by introducing her to skiing while she struggled in a low income single parent family residing illegaly in Canada. Her move to the Wyoming after graduating from the University of Vermont led to the opening of Pearl Street Bagels, marriage and a family. Maggie served on the board of Friends of Pathways and currently sits on the Grand Teton Park Foundation board of directors. “Not only was Doug Coombs a friend of mine, but the core work of the organization fully aligns with my values. It is pure joy to serve our local youth.”

Maggie Gibson

William P. Maloney is an independent consultant representing firms involved in estate planning and benefit consulting. He is Director of the Mack Financial Group’s Jackson Hole office. Prior to becoming an independent, he spent four years as a Senior Vice President of Liberty Investment Management, an asset management firm. Prior to joining Liberty, Mr. Maloney had been an investment banker specializing in mergers and acquisitions with Kidder Peabody & Co. Mr. Maloney joined Kidder Peabody in 1982 after spending seven years with Paine Webber, where he had been involved with the Blyth Eastman Paine Webber mergers and acquisitions group and the Paine Webber Mitchell Hutchins research department. Prior to that, he had been a partner in institutional sales and research at Parker/Hunter Inc.

Mr. Maloney graduated from Holy Cross College in 1959 and attended business school at McGill University and Duquesne University. He is an Advisory Board Member to the Holy Cross Business Program. Mr. Maloney currently serves, as Co-Chairman of the Board of The Doug Coombs Foundation, on the Board of Friends of the Bridger-Teton Avalanche Center, an Honorary Board Member of the Teton Literacy Center, and as a Member of the Advisory Board for Jackson Hole of Zions Bank. He is a former Board Member of the Jackson Hole Land Trust, Sheriff’s Meadow Foundation and the Teton Literacy Center. He has served on the Advisory Board of a private equity partnership, on the Board of one of its portfolio companies, and as a Board Member of a publicly listed company. He is also President of Osprey Holdings Ltd., an investment partnership. Mr. Maloney’s firm invests in private equity and venture capital opportunities.

Bill Maloney

Marshall Parke is currently Senior Partner of Western Venture Partners, a venture capital firm based in Jackson with offices in London and New York. He was previously Managing Partner -International and Vice Chairman of Lexington Partners, based in London and responsible for the firm's activities outside the United States with offices in London, Hong Kong and Santiago. Lexington is a world leader in the private equity secondaries business and was recently acquired by Franklin Templeton.

Earlier in his career Marshall founded and built Manistee Limited, a Bangkok based merchant bank focusing on advising and building businesses in SouthEast Asia. At Manistee Mr Parke started six businesses focused on Investment banking, semiconductor assembly, advertising and environmental solutions. Mr Parke started his finance career with the Chase Manhattan Bank, and subsequently joined the HongKong & Shanghai Banking Corporation in Hong Kong.

Mr. Parke is Vice Chairman of the Advisory Board of the Elliott school of International Affairs at George Washington University and Chairman of the SHARE Fellowship Program at the Thunderbird School of International Management.

Marshall and his wife Veronique have three children and divide their time between Jackson Hole, London and Paris.

Marshall Parke

For the past 22 years, Fernando has had the pleasure of calling Jackson Hole “Mi Casa.” Originally from Mexico City, Mexico, he Immigrated after earning his C.P.A. degree and specialty in Corporate Finance from the Technological University of Mexico. He has over 20 years of experience in the Hospitality Industry, showing him how important it is to support our local community. He has enjoyed involvement in the valley by joining different causes and organizations, from serving as Translator for the School District to the TCSD Collaborative Community Committee and the Lodging Tax PAC in the past. Fernando currently serves as a board member in the JH Chamber of Commerce, Teton Literacy Center, and Immigration Hope organizations.

He is the Finance Director for Rendezvous Mountain Rentals and his passion for numbers comes from a love for baseball. When not in his office, he enjoys playing baseball, tennis, cycling, and rooting in the stands for his kids at their games and tournaments. Fernando married his college sweetheart Claudia in 2005, and together they have raised Tawnya and Fernando Jr.

Fernando Ramos

Merridy and her husband Joe retired and moved to Jackson full time in September 2017. She grew up in Montreal, Quebec and moved to the States for college. I met my husband in college, we married in 1982, settled in a suburb of Chicago and have 4 children. We are new grandparents this year as both of our sons had sons. 

In Jackson I spend the winter months on the mountain as a mountain host and I am in 2 local ski groups. Skiing is my passion and I am beyond excited to share my passion with the Coombs kids!  I also love golf, hiking, boating and swimming. I grew up swimming competitively (through college) and coached for many years in Chicago 

I cannot wait to get involved with all the programs Coombs offers. 

Merridy Scott

Mr. Winder is the CEO and founder of Polygon Investment Management, a global fund management firm he founded in 2002, serving the needs of HNWI and smaller institutions. Polygon seeks to add value to client portfolios using a top-down asset allocation process which is diversified by both geography and asset class.

Previously, he was a Director of Schroder Investment Management, where he oversaw investments of over $3 billion, primarily drawn from major European corporate pensions and the sovereign wealth funds of the Arabian Gulf. Among his clients were the Shell Pension Fund, the Central Bank of Sweden and the sovereign wealth funds of: Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Abu Dhabi and Qatar. Mr. Winder lived in London for 14 years, where he was Head of Global Sales and Marketing for Credit Suisse Asset Management. Prior to that, he led business development in Europe and the Middle East for Bankers Trust Investment Management. He started his career as an economist at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, where he focused on energy, the Middle East and central bank relations.

He earned an M.S. in Foreign Service from Georgetown University in 1977 and a B.A. from Haverford College. Mr. Winder is based in Jackson Hole, WY. and Princeton, NJ. He speaks French and conversational Arabic.

Philip Winder
